Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Lottery Ticket Sales Supervisor of the Scratchers Inventory Management Center (SIMC), the Lottery Ticket Sales Senior Specialist (Senior) serves as the expert staff resource responsible for the more sensitive and complex development and review of Scratchers orders to meet the prescribed sales projections for an assigned group of retailers daily.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must be able to report to their assigned headquarters office as assigned. Travel expense to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Eligibility for telework requires the employee to reside in California per California Government Code Section 14200 which states: “telecommuting means the partial or total substitution of computers or telecommunication technologies, or both, for the commute to work by employees residing in California.

Working Conditions

1. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
2. Travel: Travel is limited.
3. Other: Overtime may be necessary and will be rare. Any need will be clearly communicated.

Special Requirements

• The California State Lottery Act provides that no person may be hired as an employee of the Commission if that person has been convicted of a felony or any gambling related offense.
• The position requires a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• At least two years of wholesale sales experience.
• At least one year of inventory management experience.
• Knowledge of customer service principles, including the ability to handle challenging customers and retailers while providing service in a professional manner.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of excellent written and oral communication skills and rules of composition and grammar.
• A detail-oriented, comprehensive approach to work assignments, with few (if any) errors or omissions.
• Knowledge of basic research and data gathering techniques, record-keeping techniques, and mathematics.
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable, but not required.
