Job Summary:

The Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist is responsible for planning and implementing radiation treatment techniques that deliver the prescribed dosage to patients. This role involves obtaining and supervising patient data acquisition, coordinating simulations, entering dosage calculations, and supervising therapists during treatment plan implementation. The dosimetrist also assists with brachytherapy procedures, radiation room surveys, and maintenance of radioactive sources, providing technical support to the Radiation Physicist.

Responsibilities:

• Plan treatment techniques to deliver prescribed radiation dosage.
• Obtain and supervise acquisition of patient data including contours, localization files, CT scans, and port films.
• Coordinate simulations with tumor localization procedures.
• Enter dosage calculations into patients' radiation therapy charts.
• Supervise therapists in the implementation of treatment plans.
• Assist in planning and building beam modifying devices.
• Obtain localization films for intracavity insertions and calculate isodose distributions.
• Prepare sources for loading and assist in brachytherapy procedures.
• Conduct radiation room surveys for patients undergoing intracavity or interstitial procedures.
• Maintain radioactive sources.
• Provide technical assistance to the Radiation Physicist.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of dosimetry experience under supervision of a dosimetrist, medical physicist, or radiation oncologist, or equivalent experience.
• Certification as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist by the American Association of Medical Dosimetry.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Eclipse Treatment Planning, Mosaiq Record & Verify, Radformation, RadCalc, and Mobius systems.

Special Considerations:

• Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO prior to start date.
• Work is performed in-person and onsite.
