About the Role: The Insurance Case Manager Lead acts as a support to the Insurance Case Management team by teaching training and developing staff members. Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Minimum Qualifications: Experience/Education: High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of medical insurance case management experience required or equivalent competency. Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word,Excel). Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calmmanner. Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion. Essential Functions: Serves as a resource to Insurance Case Managers by teaching, training, and developing fellow teammates. Assist in training new staff members. Participates in the orientation new staff members. Assist the department Supervisor in managing workflow of the team members, running daily weekly, monthly reports Provides timely acceptance and completion of new orders, monthly insurance verifications and authorization recertifications for existing patients. Understands payor coverage principles and requirements for denial letters. Performs all other duties, special projects and additional tasks as assigned. Communicates with peers, supervisors, and other employees in a non-threatening manner. Demonstrates ability to maintain calm under pressure to cope with changing environment Takes initiative to present ideas and suggestions to leadership. Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking skills and servant leadership. Maintains knowledge and proficiency in medical practices through continuing education, staff meetings, and workshops, and home study. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
